The Scottish Government has announced its legislative programme for the coming year. Here it is in full:

• ARBITRATION (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• BUDGET (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• CHILDREN’S HEARINGS (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• SCOTTISH CLIMATE CHANGE BILL;
• COUNCIL TAX ABOLITION (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND LICENSING (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• HEALTH (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• LEGISLATIVE REFORM (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• LEGAL PROFESSION (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• PUBLIC SERVICES REFORM (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• SCOTTISH MARINE BILL;
• SAFEGUARDING RURAL SCHOOLS (SCOTLAND) BILL;
• SCOTTISH CLIMATE CHANGE BILL; and

And the analysis? Well a grand total of 12 “(Scotland)” Bills to only 4 “Scottish” Bills. A clear majority for the brackets. I just hope that in their enthusiasm to abolish Council Tax, the Parliament forgets to enact an alternative!
